Pacific Island Photo Diorama
As some of you are aware, I recently got some background/bases from Coastal Kits. This company specializes in making "realistic" backgrounds which are intended to be used for photographs of scale models. With the backgrounds, you can also purchase bases which have an image printed on them. Unfortunately though, these printed bases are completely flat and fake looking. To remedy this issue, I decided to make my own base to go with this background that I had purchased from Coastal Kits.
I have quite a few other backgrounds in my inventory that I plan to do the same process for.
The plane used is 1/48 Hasegawa A6M2 Zero
Also a big thanks again to Roland @rosachsenhofer for turning me onto this backgrounds.
Great combination of kit and back round. Keith, your base is icing on the cake and the ground effect the grass, bare earth is big enough to fade or blend in with what Coastal has provided. The figures and of course the Hasegawa kit all are well done and made better buy your photography too.
Two thumbs up.
Amazing backgrounds, Keith!
Looks fantastic! I could use that background for my next posting.
This looks very realistic, Keith @greenterrorz
Very nice! Not much use having a nice backgroun if the base don't fit.
Great idea! @greenterrorz
The base and background set off the well made model perfectly.
That looks amazing Keith (@greenterrorz) - love the effect of the background and the base diorama. The model is excellent and just comes alive with the setting 🙂
Sure makes for some amazing photography! Well done!
I'm impressed!
