Iraq Migs in the Persian Gulf: Eduard 1/48 Mig 21Bis

Mig 21Bis of the Iraqi Air Force based in Jalibah during the mid 80s were deployed to patrol the Persian Gulf. These aircraft had a specialized sea camouflage and probably anti naval vessels missiles for use against the Iranian Navy.

  1. Very pretty paint job and the weathering works nicely. I REALLY like the way the Eduard 1/48 MiG 21 kits build...great result with NO drama.

  2. Nice build as always, and I really like that scheme! I could get lost in all the Mig-21 schemes available - so many countries flew them.

  3. That’s a Mig-21 scheme I’ve never seen. Very cool, Rafi. I included a few pics that I snapped of the Iraqi Migs (MF and UM cockpit) at the Pensacola Naval Air museum. Not an Arabic inscription to be seen in the cockpit of the UM, all Russian.

  8. That is a great looking build in a scheme I hadn't seen before Rafi. (one of the benefits of that type is its variety of looks) Nice weathering too - Cheers
