ProModeler Revell 1/48 Ta 154A Moskito
The first German aircraft design of a dedicated night fighter.
ProModeler's and later re boxed Revell and Dragon Ta 154 is plagued with fit issues and warped wings. Nonetheless, the model's outlines concurs with the design sketches and the kit can be built into a convincing look of the Moskito.
Glad you fought the build issues, Rafi.
Very nice Tank Moskito, incredible build,
Thank you George!
Excellent Moskito, Rafi! A triumph over this very challenging kit!
Thank you Spiros!
That looks fantastic, Rafi @blackmopane! 🤩 I really like the paintwork so much! I have that kit in my model stash and never knew of its difficulties, thanks for the head's up, Rafi! 👍
Thank you Gary!
Another great model! I have one of these in 1/72 - will need to pull it out soon.
Thank you Greg.
Perhaps, the 1/72 model is less difficult to build.
No signs of those shortcomings, Rafi @blackmopane
This Moskito turned out beautifully.
Thank you John.
You did a really good job with a notoriously tough kit.
Thank you Dan!
You really outwitted the kit with this one, Rafi. I remember putting a metal spar in the one I did to solve the warp.
Very nice result.
Thank you Tom!
G’day Rafi (@blackmopane),
I, too, have one of these in my stash that I will get to one day. I don’t recall the wings looking warped, but I recall hearing of other fit issues.
You certainly couldn’t tell what the issues might be because of the quality of your build.
Liked!
Thank you Michael!
Great work Rafi. I love the way you overcame the issues with the kit. I found that the only place I could put enough weight in to stop it being a tail sitter was using coins in the engine nacelles...
Thank you Ian.
I did the same, but did not put weight at all on my second Moskito...
Great build and photos. I did not know there was a back seat, but with on board radar at the time being a full time job there had to be one. And like the second seat on the Sea Vixen, there’s no way I would sign up for the job.
Thank you Russell.
Back seat for kids was a common practice in Luftwaffe aircraft.
Really nice result from a challenging kit. It's a shame the kit had so many problems, as it produces a really cool looking aircraft, as your build demonstrates admirably.
Thank you Doug!
