Good looking P-40 Rafi, @blackmopane. It definitely looks the part but how was the kit to build? How is the level of detail in the cockpit. The wheel wells look pretty good and the one side of the cockpit I saw looked nice too. I have seen these kits at some shows, just not sure if they are worth picking up.
The up side of Ertl's P-40 variants is that model dimensions are accurate enough to represent the fighter. Panels are recessed. Most variants were modeled. The price of a model was very low. The down sides include much flash to clean, basic mold of small parts and wheel bay representation, some fit issues especially engine cowling and wings to fuselage.
If you are into a collection of the P-40 variants, then this kit is for you. There are the Hasegawa and Airfix issues that are much better and more costly. Hasegawa's kit is probably better than Airfix. Otherwise, I would wait for the Eduard new issue for what would probably be the best in the scale.
Nice work Rafi (@blackmopane). I have that kit as well and I think I will be building it fairly soon as I want to make sure it doesn't end up in the never built list because of the upcoming Eduard kits. And as much as I am looking forward to those kits, I am going to refrain from the initial P-40E release (probably 🙂 ) and wait for the P-40N and P-40F models that will come along later.
The camouflage is outstanding. The restrained wear in the cockpit is very nice as well. Did you use a silver pencil for highlighting? I have an -F variant under way with the resin replacement nose. Talk about fit issues! Then again those might have been self inflicted.
Excellent result, Rafi!
Very interesting info for the specific bird!
Thank you, Spiros!

Superb result, Rafi @blackmopane
This variant of the sharkmouth is the best one used, it suites the P40 perfectly.
Thank you, John.
I like all my squadron's builds😉

I will also refrain from the Eduard edition for at least a year until the price comes down if at all😉
Nice work, Rafi. I’ve built a couple of those AMT kits and found them pleasing too.
Thank you, John.
Fantastic finish! I think whoever designed the P-40 had the shark mouth in mind to start with! The 'hawks are just made for it.
Thank you, Greg!
A big radiator intake is all you need.

Thank you, Russell.
I only use dry brush for silver weathering.
The fit of the F variant is problematic because of the resin part, not you😉
