Snake Bite: Dragon 1/48 Fw 190A-8
The unusual snake painting over the standard Wurger camouflage was the mount of the young Uffz. G. Pape of 3./JGr.10.
Life Like decals depicted the scheme and was used here.

Nice one, Rafi. Those snake markings are certainly eye-catching.
Thank you, Marvin.
Excellent result on this snake scheme, Rafi @blackmopane
Thank you, John.
Great modeling, Rafi! I like your gentle approach to the fuselage mottling. I admire your conquering the difficulties of the cowl assembly! For those interested in the pilot: Uffz Günther Wilhelm (Willi) Pape (PAH-puh) - born 1/13/1924 - 3/JGr-10, 2/JGr-10 (4/45) - Fw 190A-8, Fw 190D-9 - Fighter Operational Clasp - MIA 5 April, 1945 after being shot down over Thüringen by a P-47 of 393FS/367FG piloted by Lt L.Dean. His remains were found on 8 November, 1997, and he was buried at Hötzelroda beim Eisenach. Jager Blatt 4 & 6/2001. There is no indication he scored any victories during his service. There's a nice photo of another 3./JGr10 Fw190A-8, black 11, not quite halfway down the page here: https://falkeeins.blogspot.com/2014/03/
Thank you, Christopher.
Thank you for the insight involving Pape's career. It adds another dimension to the model.
Excellent result, Rafi! Painting and weathering are superb!
Thank you, Spiros!
Another beauty, and such an interesting subject. The Germans didn't seem to embellish their aircraft as much as other combatants, and this one is a nice standout!
Thank you, Greg!
Beautifully done Rafi.
Thank you, David.
