F-80 Shooting Star Airfix 1/72

December 1, 2024 · in Aviation · · 18 · 227

Hi all,

after long time i finally managed to finish one model (somehow getting older i have less and less time for this hobby, spending more time on the work πŸ™ .

, model i first built some 40+ year ago. Now just added little more attention to overall finished look. I tried to engrave the panel lines, add some details to cockpit, colours AK...and that is all. Working on this model make me very happy, reminding me to period when i entered this beautiful hobby.

I hope you will like this model, till next one, best regards,

Djordje

  1. A very good rendition of this golden oldie jet, Dordje!
    Thanks for sharing your build.

  2. Wow, she looks great, Djordje @djordjestarcevic. The panel lines look real nice. One less from your big stash πŸ™‚ There is so little time for all this great plastic, isn't there.

  3. @Felix
That is more than true πŸ™‚
    Thank you

  4. Excellent Shooting Star, Djordje!
    Well done!

  5. That's an impressive result, Djordje @djordjestarcevic
A nice remembrance of when you started this wonderful hobby.

  6. Nice work. That’s still a good kit.

  7. Ahoy, Mr. Starcevik. Seeing your Shooting Star makes me almost as happy as if I had built it myself. This Airfix kit is one of my all-time favorite model kits. Over the last 50 years, I've built at least two of them and have one in my stash. The super job you did building and finishing this lovely F-80 puts you in the oldie-but-goodie category as well. Thank you for the great photos, too.

  8. Fantastic work! I too love the old Airfix kit. I have the more modern Sword kit but would rather build the Airfix.

  9. Superb F-80! The two-tone natural metal looks great.

  10. That came out looking real nice! Excellent build.

  11. Very clean work in this iconic early jet. Thanks for sharing!

  12. Great job, the old kit hold ups well.

  13. Nice and cleanly done Djordje,
