Magic Factory 1/48 F4U-2 Corsair

December 28, 2024 · in Aviation · · 13 · 270

The is one of the most realistic looking scale models ever produced, particularly at the 1/48th and 1/32nd scales. 's F4Us maintains the notion, not to mention that it is more accurate and detailed than the equivalent Tamiya kit. Yet, the magical modular design of the Tamiya kit facilitates a quicker build and a suitable surface texture to accommodate attractive weathering schemes.

  1. Very nice work! looks great. Tempted to get it, but invested in too many Tamiya Corsairs! It would be great if they put out an F4U-4- not sure why Tamiya never did!

  2. Nice work on this Rafi. Superb result.

As more modern kits like this one, the Eduard P-51Bs and Ds, the Eduard Fw-190s, the Eduard F4Fs, the Eduard Spitfire Is and Vs, come out, Tamiya is more and more shown to be the success it is because modelers have mistaken "ease of assembly" with "accuracy."

    • Thank you, Tom.
Indeed, the struggle to put more together for better accuracy reduces the realism of the final outcome.

    • That is definitely true. The old Monogram kits were very accurate for the time, and still hold up with carful building. I'd much rather put the time in on an accurate kit than shake and bake a kit that needs correction. It's great to see the all there modern kits have the attention payed to correct shape and detail.

  3. Excellent result and superb looks, Rafi!

  4. Really nice work on this Corsair, Rafi @blackmopane

  5. Awesome job Rafi, as always! I always love a Corsair -2 build, and this is truly a beautiful build.
