Airfix 1/144 Concorde
Another nostalgic build, when I saw this kit at a model show I couldn't resist, having built one long ago, I remember hand painting the silver wings. Anyway, I had planned on doing it as one of the prototypes. but I took the easy way out and built a bit of a whatifer . Using what I think were Black dog decals of a TWA 727 which are bit too translucent, which really shows how wrong the cabin windows are.I did add sheet plastic to separate the engine inlets. If anyone would like the old Air France kit decals your welcome to them.

This reminds me of a full scale mock up that was in a nearby museum that went out of business in the late 1970's / early 1980's. The place was in Orlando / Kissimmee FL area, and was called "Wings and Wheels". Inside the museum they had quite a few very neat planes (WW1 Pfaltz D-12, B-25, Douglas DC-2, a Sky Dart jet sea plane, etc. to name a few) and antique cars, and even some operable "Link Trainers" that you could ride inside for 5 minutes (or longer depending on how many quarters you had). They had a full sized "SST" mock up that was set up so that you had full access to the plane. I still have some photos of my younger brother and I sitting at the flight controls of it... I was only a teenager then, but it left a lasting impression on me. Nice build my friend. The Concord is just elegant, no matter how you look at it.
I live along the flight path to JFK, What a site when these beauties' came in. Every body took notice, aviation enthusiast or not, even my wife.
Great,Great looking aircraft and build as well,know what you mean about living near an airport,our airport is small but we often have the Boeing C-17 fly over with all landing gear down,but noway could it land,also had the 130 Hercules plus 3 F-18's had a dog fight right over the roof,and my wife also loves it she is always first out to look at them,just this week the Ukraine 225 Mriya came into Perth airport there was some 26000 people turned up to see it land.Imagine building that as a kit.Cheers

Very pointy! I never built one - couldn't figure out how the Air Force could use it...!
Nice build Robert!, I might be wrong, but I think that's the first Concorde we've had on here.
I didn't even know a model of one of the prototypes existed! I bet the future crews were relieved when the visor was revised.
