Revell 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 109-10
An old blast from the past, did this kit about 7 years ago, and it was and my first attempt at mottling. Have a great appreciation for those that get it right, I need to practice some more before attempting another one Not a bad little kit, built out of the box but did add some PE belts, some antenna wire, and minor weathering. Used the kit decals and they worked very well. I'll leave the accuracy of this kit to comments from the 109 experts,as I'm not one. However, if you want a quick and fun build you may want to pick one of these up.
The camo effect looks fine to ME, Tom...after all, it was, I presume, applied haphazardly in the field anyway, so they'd all be 'different' to some extent. Nice build. ๐
Tom, nice work on an old classic. I did the same thing a fews ago, got the kit for $5 at a show. Added a bunch of left over stuff from a Hasegawa kit and came up with the best $5 model on my self. This is actually a wonderful little kit, I too am not sure of the accuracy either, but it looks good, has a nice shape, and when its built up like you've done here, turns into a nice model. Well done !
I do confirm that the background is very authentically German. ๐
Having been to Bavaria on several occasions I can confirm that as well. Wonderful beer as well.
Fine looking 109, Tom!
109s usually look good and this one is no exception, I like the background and the beer as well.
The 109 Looks great ! I've been to the Bavarian beer garden around the corner, It's got some great German beer...
Tom, this is lovely. Well built & painted. Bravo!
PS - I too can give Bayrische Bier (Bavarian Beer) a thumbs up!
I like your 109 Tom. This little kit is a great one for building that isn't too expensive. Yours turned out very good. I'm still looking for a poster like yours in the background. It's another great touch. Thanks for sharing this with us.
PS. I've had some Bavarian Beer at the Oktoberfest in Munich many years ago. Like these others have stated it was some really good stuff. The mountains in Southern Germany do look like the ones in your poster ... it's a great country with some beautiful scenery.
Nice looking 109 Tom. Built this in the "way back when" using the kit decals as well. Hoping my first attempt at mottles turn out as well
