1/32 Hobbycraft P-51 RAF Mustang 1A
This is 1/32 Hobbycraft P-51 Mustang 1A finished with the RAF markings ( May 1944 )
Hobbycraft s kit is a scaled up version of 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Mustangs.
Cockpit modified by Vector set.
Seat belts are from Eduard.
I have used Gunze and Tamiya acrylics for RAF camouflage painting.
Other modifications are:
-Barracudacast P-51 wheels.
-Mastercasters P-39 exhausts
-Resicast lens for landing lights
-Rear view mirror and antenna mast are from my spare box.
Happy Modelling
A really gorgeous build, Tolga!
Tolga, beautiful build of the early Mustang.
Beautifully done, Tolga!
Where have you been hiding, Tolga...? I always look forward to seeing your fine work as is evident yet again here with this build. Very nice! 🙂
Wonderful bird, sharp in details and superbly painted if I may say so. Overall very impressive Tolga
A beautiful build Tolga. I haven't seen any completed Hobbycraft kits of this aircraft up to now. You've done a superb job here & your photos show some wonderful detail. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for your comments
I have some more Hobbycraft s Mustangs to be built on my collection
But it needs modifications for example cockpit set is a must.
On the other hand though these modifications the kit still has some inaccuracies; like too pointy spinner and inaccurate Wheel well seaside walls.
Well we will see it in the futures builds.
It has to be "sidewall", how did I wrote it "seaside Wall".?
We've all done the same type of thing...too bad there isn't an "edit" function here as well as in the PM format.
Once again we've been treated to a Goldilock's build that is done to perfection. With a palette that is used just right... not to dark and not to light. All of the color values and intensities are the same and the Mustang kit plays the role with conviction and intensity. In other words a job well done indeed. Two thumbs up. A strong piece of work that is deserving of model of the month.
Excellent detail! right down to the rudder pedals!
Hello Tulga,
Thanks for sharing this model and extra information.
It looks excellent. Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.
Excellent. A lesser seen kit in 1/32. too. Hadn't realised RAF were still operating these in 1944.
Every day's a school day!
