Tamiya 1/48 P-51D “Little Freddie”
Hello all,
First off, an introduction. I'm currently a senior in high school and I have been modeling for a year and a half. In that time I have ruined a few models but have also pumped out quite a few good ones as well. The pictures I have posted are of my pride an joy, my attempt at the Tamiya 1/48 P-51D. I chose Tuskegee markings because I have a great deal of respect for those men that fought and won two battles: the war and discrimination. This model took me about three and a half weeks to finish but I added a decent amount of detail to the cockpit and a sprained ankle gave me a lot of free time. I added wires, spruced up the seat, added radio wires, and did some stuff to the wheel wells. All comments and criticism welcome. Winning the 1/32 Tamiya P-51D would make my holiday season as I'm as broke as a soon to be college freshman should be. Please feel free to comment!

Thank you, veterans.
I like it Erik, nice NMF and well presented too.
Thanks Mike, I'm glad you like it!
Looks good from what I can see, Erik...why don't you add some more pics and show off the detail you described. You chose an excellent kit.
Hello Craig,
Thank you very much for your compliments, that means a lot. I did the original article from my iPhone and for some reason all the pictures didn't show up. I got it fixed now so I hope you can see what you are looking for. The kit was excellent although I made some mistakes early on.
Yep...we got 'em all now. But there's still a problem. Now we can't see any mistakes! Nice work, Erik.
Erik,
FYI, you seem to be the first user who succesfuly used the iPhone to perform a full photo-to-posting cycle. Let me just comment that this isn't even officially supported yet 🙂 Congratulations and we're glad to have you onboard.
nice! You are doing a great job! great build- nice presentaion in the photos as well- hope your ankle heals well!
Hello! Thank you for your comment! This was built last spring and my ankle did heel just fine, but thank you for your concern!
Very nice model, and I am glad to see you got the canopy to sit right (probably the most common boo-boo with P-51D models). Excellent NMF.
Thanks for you comment and positive feedback. To be honest, the canopy sitting right is probably just luck but very good luck on that note! Happy modeling!
Hey guys. Thank you for all of your comments, that really means a lot to me. Happy modeling and Holiday season!
