M8E2 Munitions Carrier, US Army, 1/48 Aurora, Blast from the past.

February 13, 2019 · in Armor · · 7 · 2.7K

I found this on ebay, along 's MBT 70,[which I have already built]. The was based on the M41 Walker bulldog chassis, It was developed in the 1950s. Don't no much more about its operational use.Now I have something to resupply the M109 Paladin.

  1. great job...very cool iconic blast

  2. Great build. Good to see you here Robert!

  3. interesting creature - amazing what you can do when you just start plunking parts down on a chassis with tracks!

  4. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Nice blast Robert, brings back memories.

  5. A very interesting looking vehicle. Looks really good.

  6. Very well done, Robert.

The drawing on the front of the other box - the supposed "MBT-70" is the oddest version I've ever seen! The artwork is pure "what if" and not at all what the real MBT-70s (or even the XM-803) looked like. Back when Ft. Knox was the "Home of Armor," (don't get me started on THAT) there were about 4 or 5 MBT-70s/XM803s scattered around the place. I haven't been down there in years so I have NO idea if they're still there.
    Great job, Robert!

  7. Like almost everyone, I love seeing these old kits get built. 32nd scale Tamiyas are good for the brain, but these vintage kits hit the heart.

    Great stuff, Robert.
