Würger sporting serpents
Hello guys!
The brand name Airfix is a part of my memory of youth together with its mold color light blue. I bought quite a few kits of the brand, mainly of Luftwaffe, but none were completed...
So, this is virtually the first Airfix that I finished. It is an OOB including the impressive decals; the spiral on the spinner was not contained in the kit, so it was painted; Swastikas were ”dug" from my spare box. The como sheme is the usual 76/74/75. Regrettably , the aerial line seems a little too thick.
Thank you for watching. Any comments are welcome.
Nice work!
Thank you David!
Looks good Shun. Check out this for aerials. https://www.uschivdr.com/products-in-detail/rigging/
Thank you George for useful information of rigging. I didn't know the USCHI product. I used MODELKASTEN Strech Rigging, which is handy because it is flexible and elastic. http://store.modelkasten.com/shopdetail/000000002812/hs/page1/recommend/
But, the scale recommended for this rigging is 1/48, so naturally it is too thick for 1/72! I want to try the USCHI in the future.
Very nice...
Thank you Tom!
Very nice. The snake motif gives the plane an eye catching appearance. For the aerials I’m old school and use plain stretch plastic sprue, it’s free, and you can practice until you achieve the thickness desired (for 1/72 it really needs to be thin). Then use Tamiya liquid glue (or similar from another brand) just one drop and press, or go with super glue in gel form, easy to take a tiny portion using a toothpick per example and apply to each end of the sprue filament.
I agree with you in that the snake marking is very attractive.
Yes, I used streched spures for a long time. My concern when using them, especially very fine ones, was the possibility of breaking with a slightest impact. But, they have merits of course, as you say. Thank you for kind advice, Pedro.
Great paint job, Shun. Getting the mottling to look good in 1/72 can be tough, but yours looks great.
Thank you George for the encouraging words on the paint job!
Looks good Shun, nicely done, I use black invisible mending thread attached with super glue for my antennae !
Thank your Allan! Would you please tell me the brand of mending thread you use?
Good work, my friend...I used to use a product called "E-Z line" for antennas.
Thank you Craig for the information of E-Z line, which I didn't know.
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Good work on that model Shun, the MOTTLED effect on the finish looks great, especially for that scale.
Thank you DE4EVER! My airbrush is very capricious, the reason of which I cannot figure out...When painting this kit, it behaved pretty good fortunately.
great model...but what happens if that snake bites his tongue
Thank you bob!
HA, HA, HA, I’m not sure what will happen, but may be the fired bullets or rockets may return to yourself.
Thank you guys all. It's interesting to know that there are various ways to reproduce aerial lines. The kind and quick responses from the members are really helpful.
A great looking build! I only build 1/72, and when I found the Uschi (in the smallest scale), I've never used anything else! It is so fine, it's almost a pain to work with - some of my tweezers will barely hold onto it!
Thank you Greg! The Uschi rigging sounds good, but a bit challenging to my aged eyes. However, I will try it in the future project.
