TAMIYA 1/32 F4U1a.
This is my Tamiya RNZAF Corsair.
It's a beautiful kit and really needs no aftermarket to make a fantastic model.
Nonetheless I added some HGW seatbelts as well as Barracuda cockpit stencils and various bits of wiring to the cockpit.
I also made up actuators for the cowl flaps from aluminium strip and wire.
It's painted using custom mixes of various Mr Color acrylic lacquers.
All the markings were painted using both Montex and handmade masks.
I also used HGW wet transfer stencilling instead of decals.
I then weathered it with Windsor and Newton Alkyd oils, metallic pencils and added some fuel spills with a combination of olive drab and zinc chromate aqueous acrylic before a final filter to blend everything in.
Awsome kiwi Corsair! Great paintjob.
Awesome indeed, a very well balanced model in terms of paint and weathering. Thumbs up!
