Outstanding 1/48Tamiya kit finished with equally outstanding decals from Aeromaster's RNZAF special package. You really can't go wrong with a Tamiya Corsair.
I do not claim to be an expert but I was under the impression that the RNZAF flew F4U-1A's and FG1-D's (Vaught and Goodyear manufactured F4U1-A model) and that we had either very few (or none) F4U1-D's. in the Pacific. (We MAY have been equipped with them as part of J-Force in 1945-46 in Japan though.) I will check my references and get back.
Be that as it may, you HAVE done a very nice job, although the RNZAF Corsairs had a very tough outdoor life in the SWAPO and this one seems just a bit "pristine".
I love the Tamiya Corsair kit too, and have built one as an RNZAF bird.
Pics to follow soon.
Agreed.
