Harrier G.R.1A (AMMO/Kinetic 1/48)

December 11, 2022 · in Aviation · · 16 · 1K

is a special subject to me, because FROG's (produced by NOVO actually) G.R. Mk.I was one of my first plastic kits, if not the very first one. Modern aviation is not my usual subject, but I've made an exclusion for this build.

This is well-known 's Harrier repacked by AMMO. Five interesting markings, including the Spanish one. I chose the classic RAF G.R.1A one. Maybe my expectations for this kit were too high for no reason, but I can't say I enjoyed the building process. I added resin wheels by Armory, pitot tube by Master, and some PE parts by Eduard.

Thanks for watching!

  1. Looking amazing, Dmitry! Nice extras!

  2. Beautiful work and a great result, Dmitry.

I agree with you about the Kinetic Harriers. They are definitely the best out there, but that's not the same as saying they are great.

  3. Great work on this Dmitry, the only Harrier I've built to date is the ancient Airfix 1/48 offering so nothing like this in terms of quality let alone my workmanship which is not near yours by miles...
In profile the Harrier always looks insect like to my eyes like a grasshopper which it kind of was in a way.

  4. Great looking early Harrier, Dmitry!

  5. Nice work, Dmitry! It turned out great. I built the Kinetic 2 seat Harrier and really enjoyed it.

    • @j-healy Thank you, John! Regarding the Kinetic kits โ€“ I think it's my issue mostly, because I had too much expectations without actual reason. All manufacturers are different, and not all of them are Tamiyas ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. The Harrier is one of my favourite jets, and yours is a great example, not sure if it can be called โ€œmodernโ€ though.

  7. Great work on your Harrier, Dmitry!

  8. Beautiful work on this iconic aircraft! I kinda wish you had done the Spanish version so I had a nice reference file for my upcoming build! Looks great in this classic scheme too though...
