Airfix 1/48 D h Tiger Moth
Hi everyone βΊοΈ
Finished the Moth today, it's the Airfix 1/48 kit that was released a short while ago. I saw on on this site an earlier post by a fellow contributer of a yellow Moth. I was hooked when I came round to doing my Moth it was going to be yellow. Cheers for the nudge John π It's in the markings of " No. 6 Elementary Flying Training School, Royal Australian Air Force, based at RAAF Station Mallala South Australia 1940.
The Moth was a great build with added extras being: Kits World 3d printed seat belts, Bob's Buckles eyelets, Albion Alloys tubing and Uschi rigging material, 0.05 and 0.03. I checked on the Uschi website and 0.05 is recommended for 1/48, it may be my eyes but it looks a bit thin. But happy to go with it.
Happy modelling every one.
Nice job, Guy...especially with the yellow.
Cheers Gary a very enjoyable build
Fantastic job, Guy!
Well done!
Thank you Spiros I do like these newer Airfix kits.
very nice! Yellow is not the easiest color to work with but you really pulled it off well. Great job on this!
Thank you David I admit to more luck than judgement. I had a go at using Tamiya smoke as the filter to give the yellow a bit of depth
Beautifully done, looks great!
Cheers Robert, I do like to try something different every now and then.
She's a nice looking bird! The yellow is a stand-out.
Thank you Greg it was an enjoyable experience trying rigging and finishing it in a yellow scheme.
That's very nice - what's not to like about a Tiger Moth? Especially one done like this.
Cheers Tom had a load of fun doing this one I have a few more biplanes to do and the worry over doing them has now passed
Very nice result, Guy @thom
A lovely Moth in Yellow.
Thank you John glad you liked it π
Great yellow painting!
Cheers Lis Next kit is on my bench HobbyBoss F-111A size wise going from the sublime to the ridiculous.
What a lovely build. The Tiger Moth from Tintin!
Oh yes with the Thompson Twins hanging out of the back seat π Liked their music and still do π
Great result, Guy! Who doesnβt like a yellow Aussie Tiger Moth?
Thank you John π your earlier build was my inspiration for doing this finish π
