P-47D Thunderbolt, 1/48 Italeri
Hi all !
This is my latest model, the P47D 1/48 Italeri. My first metallic color kit, and trying to give this old used condition as usual...
The instruments in the cockpit with dry brush worked well. I also made my own masks for the canopy as you can see in the pictures. For the bombs, I applied Mr. Surfacer 1000 to give this rough texture, and added the typical message to one of them...
I made the hydraulic lines for the landing gear and wheel well. For the metallic color, first gloss black as base and then Vallejo metallic color. For the external fuel tank, I added the fuel cap and some dirt.
The thing I enjoyed the most was leaving the shoulder harnesses out of the cockpit... like when the pilots leaves it quickly !
In general a lot of work, but was worthy to give it this look... about the kit, it fits well but be careful with the instructions, specially with decals positions.
Next project... out of stock, vintage Revell 1:144 uBoat Type VII C... the classic one !
