Trumpeter 1/48 F-100F Super Sabre
A nice and easy to build model. The highlight of the model is the engine exhaust area with the colorful burnt metal patterns. No fancy metallizers there, just a touch of diluted colors over darkened silver paint.

Yes, simple and sweet. The burn effect is very well done.
Thank you Bill.
Your models speak for themselves, this one being no exception, Rafi!
What a super result!
The burnt metal effect is excellent.
Thank you Spiros!
Super build, Rafi @blackmopane
Especially the effects around the engine are amazing.
Thank you John!
Love the burnt metal effect.
One piece of formative feedback however. You could have made the model even more lifelike by applying some subtle tone variations in the NMF of the aircraft’s panels.
Awesome job though, @blackmopane !
Thank you Alfred.
Thanks for the feedback. However, I usually avoid silver panel tone variations. Although they add much to the 3D look, the differences are too subtle in the real aircraft if at all. The only exceptions I make if photographs show distinct variations in tones.
Makes sense.
Thanks @blackmopane
Very nice NMF model.
Thank you Dan.
Nice work, Rafi. That’s another one in my stash……
Thank you John.
Enjoy the build.
Burn effect is great. Nice work overall.
Thank you Tom.
Wow- NMF is spectacular. Ditto to all who mentioned the burnt metal effect, you absolutely nailed it. Well done!
Thank you David!
Great build and NMF finish with super-duper exhaust area coloring...the most realistic I've seen.
Thank you Bob!
What a great looking Hun, really nice work here.
Thank you Greg.
The exhaust staining adds to the realism. Great effort.
Thank you John.
Very nice Hun.
I have this kit in my stash also, but will be a SEA bird assigned to Commando Sabre. Still going to try your burnt metal effects because one thing a Super Sabre will do is burn off all the paint it can from the engine area.
Thank you David.
Nice work as always, Rafi.
Thank you George.
Nicely done...especially the "burnt metal" effect the exhaust. Took the same approach on my 1/48 F-100D posted here on iModeler. It just takes a bit of patience working the colors til they look just right. There is no really fast way to do it...just art.
Thank you Tom.
I had a look at your post. Very well done. Inspired me for another go at the Super Sabre with a different approach.
Yes - I do like that burnt metal effect - I have pics of my dad's Huns in flight, and you captured the look nicely!
Thank you Greg!
