Matchbox 1/72 Mosquito Mk 30 (PK-116)
This is the Matchbox Mosquito built up as a nightfighter. It is built out of the box with the only addition being the vac-form canopy from Falcon. The kit took several applications of putty and primer to get the finish I wanted. I painted it with Tamiya and Mr Color paints. The kit fits well although; but, I did not attach the landing gear per the instructions and I had problems putting it on. I used the kit decals and the canopy is framed with decal strips. It's the first Mossie I've built since 1970, so I'm happy with it.
Fantastic result out of the elderly but so lovely Matchbox kit, David! All your extra work paid off! Love seeing Matchbox kits built, let alone in such a high standard!
thank you as always. I enjoy these old kits very much.
A superb result on this Mosquito, David @thevid
Always great to see those old Matchbox kits being put together this nicely.
Thank you. I love seen these old kits built up by modelers as well.
Great result from the old Matchbox kit.
It's very basic, with no cockpit detail, but the shape looks good compared to early Airfix and FROG versions. Thanks!
Nice work on this old Matchbox gem, brought a smile to my face.
I finished mine about a year ago. MATCHBOX BUILDERS UNITE!

Very nice George. I opted for the fighter version because I did not like the clear parts. I have a Tamiya version that keeps staring at me.
You've made a very nice looking Mossie, great job! And I still like the old Matchbox kits, especially seeing a nice looking build.
It turned out extremely well. @thevid

Very nice work on that Matchbox classic David.
Yes, old kits still have a place in the modeler's universe. I too like to occasionally delve into one of these. Nice work on the kit, David (@thevid). Thanks for sharing. Love Mossies!
Well done on a classic kit! Looks great.
Nice work, David. I too still like Matchbox kits.
