1/48 HKM B-17G Flying Fortress “Queenie”
This is 1/48 HKM's B-17G-15 (42-31353) LG-Q named “Queenie” from 91st BG, 322nd BS in Bassingbourn –England April 1944.
I have used Eduard instrument panel and seat belts in the cockpit.
I shortened the length of the landing legs by approximately 1.5mm. Main landing leg scissors are Aerocraft customized products.
Wheels are from Eduard Brassin set.
Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics
Happy modelling
Really amazing, well done!
The instrument panel is almost too beautiful to be hidden inside the cockpit.
Thanks Alfred @alfred
That is a lovely Flying Fort! Really nice paint and finish work.
Thanks Greg @gkittinger
@tolgaul
Another beautiful work Tolga! Congratulations 🙂
Just how big is the model length and span?
And btw are the decals OOB?
Thanks Pedro @holzhamer
Yes it is big. I painted wings and the fuselage separately and later combined them.
The fit is great
Yes the decals are from the boz and they are excellent
What a great-looking B-17, Tolga (@tolgaul). These HKM kits looks really nice with lots of detail. The cockpit looks very detailed, especially with your painting to bring out the details.
Thanks George @gblair
Yes it is a great kit
What an impressive B-17, very inspirational work, so much so i popped the wallet and ordered one. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chuck @uscusn
Very well done!
Thanks Chas @chasbunch
Very nice! I know this kit has been maligned some, especially over on the "other" site we shall not name, but it sure looks the part to me!
Thanks Rob @robertandy
Yes, I have read some negative comments. But it looks good to me too
