F-15C 79-0046, 114th Fighter Squadron, 173rd FW, Oregon Air National

When Speed Hunter Graphics published their “Guardian Eagles” decal sheet, I had to build my favorite ANG F-15 bird - 79-0046, 114th Fighter Squadron, 173rd FW, Oregon ANG. The kite is the old Hasegawa kit with Wollpack conversion for MISP II.
Some changes were needed: The ECS opening on the right side was sealed
The boxes at Bay 5 were added from scratch, the bird is model 79 so the bay was painted metallic chromate green,. Panel 154 was opened with the intention to make the ground crew headphones set, but I didn't get to it.
Phase Hanger mid-life wheel set was added. Weapons are from Hasegawa set E.
The SHG decals were top notch!. Details were added to the canopy and a seat from the Revell F15E – with some detailing that was needed. All paints are AVair and Tamiya and mig Satin lucky varnish sealed it all. The Hasegawa kit is still excellent and accurate in shape and with some work that is required to bring it up to the latest standard you get an excellent F-15 plus I love the Mean Look this airplane has…
