Italeri 1/32 Macchi MC.202 Folgore
One I fancied doing since it was announced.
The majority of the kit fits and goes together without any major issues but it is plagued with some strange engineering decisions.
Having to place the landing gear so early in the build makes for a lot of delicate and potentially dangerous work later on.
There are a staggering amount of visible ejection pin marks throughout the build which makes life interesting.
Other than those points this was an enjoyable and fun build with the only major issues being entirely operator error.
I managed to misread the colour call outs and painted the main engine bearers green rather than steel and the major howler... I've managed to place the gun access panel covers on completely the wrong way round.
Both of these were spotted a long time after it was too late to do anything about it.
The engine bearers can only be seen by peering through the wheel well and the gun panel covers when painted and with the smoke rings down looks ok.
No-one who will see this in my house will be completely oblivious to this anyway.
Primed with Mr Finishing Surfacer Black 1500.
Painted with,
Lifecolor Verde Anticorrosione, Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1 and Nocciola Chiaro 4 var.
Tamiya Nato Black, Rubber Black, Clear Red, Clear Green and Yellow.
Xtreme Metals Steel,
Humbrol Emerald Green.
Washed with Citadel Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade and Flory Dark Dirt.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Galeria Matt Varnish.
I should mention that this was completely built OOB and while I wasn't planning any more Regia Aeronautica aircraft now that Italeri have announced another two I might just go for it.

Very nice! I recently built an old Hasegawa 48th scale Folgore, my first attempt at an Italian aircraft. One thing I noticed after completion was the 'smoke rings' I painted were a bit too thin, yours are very well done. My compliments to you on job well done π
