Academy 1/48 A-10C Warthog
The best model I have built from Academy's original tooling. The model is complex and highly detailed. Surface texture is excellent. Panel lines are recessed and raised. The fit of parts is very good. Nose area components are un necessarily designed in a complicated manner. Care must be taken with the alignment of engine unit and nacelles. The parts fit, but not aligned well. The best way to avoid re gluing the parts is to deviate from the instructions. Intake parts should be separately glued from the main engine unit that is aligned with the exhaust area.
A great looking Warthog, Rafi @blackmopane
It almost looks like you have taken black/white images but the minor red and yellow parts do reveal that those are color images.
Well done.
Thank you John!
Love the Warthog, and this one is a beauty! I've done one in the Euro Lizard scheme, but need to do another in this grey scheme. Well done!
Thank you Greg!
Another in a long list of splendid builds my friend.
Thank you Matt!
Very nice build @blackmopane !
Did the tamyia in the lizard scheme and thought it came out quite well but yours, in grey, is beautiful! Congrats!
Thank you Manuel!
Are you competing with me for the number of posts here at IM, Rafi? 🙂
Seriously, very nice work on this (as usual).ZZZZZZZ
Thank you Tom.
I take the opportunity of the volatile situation here to gather an incentive to digitally preserve my collection...
No one can compete with you, Tom😉
Great build again Rafi.
I am eyeing the Hobby 2000 re-pop of this kit because of the four eye-catching schemes it comes with. I have heard of the engine fit issue, do you have a photo of your fix? Thanks.
Thank you David.
I was too frustrated to take a photo😒
The solution is easy. Not to glue the intake engine unit to the main unit. They come together as the cowlings are attached in the final stage of engine construction.
Great looking A-10 well done
Thank you Dave.
Excellent job and superb result, Rafi! Thanks for the hints!
Thank you Spiros!
