1/72 Heinkel He 162 ‘Salamander’, HobbyBoss 80239

October 11, 2024 · in Aviation · · 12 · 91

Another quick build from , added seat belts and a new pitot tube. No place to jam enough nose weight, I had to place the last required amount in the front nose wheel well.

Painted with Mr. Hobby Aqueous paints and decals from the kit, with some panel liner to finish.

Amazing just how small the is when placed next to the other 72nd builds on my shelf.

These 'Easy' kits are great to focus on practicing airbrushing and trying new paints.

  1. Excellent job and super result, George! I am also fond of these Easy Assembly Hobby Boss kits.
    Well done!

  2. A superb result on this little Salamander, George @georgeswork
Being up close to a 1:1 He162, I agree that those aircraft are very small, it wonders you how it is able to get airborn.

  3. Nicely done George! It looks great and as you mentioned, it can be used to learn new techniques.

  4. Very clean build!

  5. Dare we call it "cute"? Great job George @georgeswork. Here's one of the little beasts I saw at the Canadian aviation museum this summer:

  6. Excellent build! Looks great.

  7. Nice work, George. Your paintwork is exceptional. The only 162 I ever built was a Lindberg kit about 50 years ago.

  8. Very nicely done, and wow is that small! The He-162 airframe (from Trimaster) seemed small to me in 1/48. The concept reminds me of Churchill’s phrase: a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, and of the - VALHALLA : ADMIT ONE ticket I saw on the internet a few days ago.

  9. Great looking tiny build...looks 1/48

  10. That looks excellent, George !

  11. Sharp build, George!

  12. What a gem, George! 👍 Very nice indeed @georgeswork! 👏
