Dragon 1/48 Fw 190D-13

The D-13 was the last operational variant of the Dora. The spectacular look of the aircraft in the Champlin Collection was an inspiration for me. At that time, the aircraft was displayed following the first restoration effort consisting of a complex and convincing camouflage scheme (and the wrong wings.)

I used aftermarkets for the D-13 variant on a Dragon platform kit that included the larger than regular intake situated on the right side of the Jumo 213 engine. Kommandeur Decals had a detailed scheme that helped to accomplish the intricate camouflage pattern.
