Tamiya 1/48 Dewoitine D.520
Latest completion is the Tamiya 1/48 Dewoitine D.520. This was one of Tamiya's two-sprue wonders from the 90's, and it still holds up today as a nice kit.
I added considerable scratchbuilt details to the cockpit sidewalls, and made seat belts from lead foil. I also added Quickboost exhausts.
Most of the major markings (roundels, rudder colors, and fuselage numbers) were masked and painted. The camouflage colors were mixed using MRP and Mr. Color.
The markings are for an aircraft during the Battle of France in May 1940– these aircraft were only a couple of months old, so I kept the weathering to a minimum.
Looks great!
Very, very nice Toby. It really drops mine to a lower level. A shame Rafi is going to bombard the site and drop you to the third page in short order. Everyone needs to see this. Again, well done
Well done- looks great!
Excellent result, Toby!
Very nice rendition, bravo!
A small handle, inside and at the top of the windshield, should be present (Tamiya forgot it). Easy to make. Some photos available on the web 😉
An impressive result, Toby @tobsnelson
Especially the interior is eye catching.
Those roundels and numbers are painted nicely, much better than using the decals.
That work on the cockpit really turned out nice. So did the paintwork.
