P-47D Tamiya 1/48 scale
This is simply a great kit, an absolute joy to build.
Passionate Patsy was flown by Lt. Ralph Barnes with the 310th FS, 58th FG, New Guinea in 1944.
The decals are from Thundercals. The decals are printed beautifully and work very well.
The model was painted with Model Master enamels. Pre shaded and a little pastel added for weathering. The gun barrels were bored out, and the pitot was replaced with a hypodermic needle. The antenna wire spring tensioner was made from a coiled small gauge copper wire. Eduard PE seatbelts were added.
The drop tank has been converted into a fire bomb (napalm). I'm not sure what all the external add on stuff is, I can only guess that's its some sort of detonator and a fuse or battery supply. I built it from pictures I researched.
Subtle finishes and a nice contrast of cowling colours.
Very nicely built Jugs, Terry...(all 3 of 'em). ๐
You must have hunted down "The Cotton Chopper ". That was posted by my friend Dave Hansen for me about a year ago. Thanks for the comment.
Nope...I was referring to the airplane and the nose art. ๐
duhhh, ok, being a jug guy I should have caught that.
Lovely Razorback Terry
Nice Jug there Terry.
Well done sir.
Terry this is a very impressive p-47! Love the decal to and finding it very hard not to make "jug" pun...
Seriously, though, you've done a terrific job with this model

Absolutely stunning. A colourful Jug is a beautiful thing! Love it!
Thanks Morne, One of the things that attract me to P-47s is the never ending art work & paint schemes.
Awesome Thunderbolt, Terry. As Morne said, its a very colorful Thunderbolt and you can t have too many of them.
Well done !
Nice build!
Very well done - love the color scheme, particularly cowl and cowl flaps. Nice subtle weathering and shading also.
Passion for modeling shows via Passionate Patsy! Thanks!
Tery,
Absolutely gorgeous. Excellent workmanship shows on this build. I like everything you have done here.
Great work Terry - I love the additional little details you put on, including the napalm tank. Very well done paintwork as well. And you topped it off with some first-rate photography. Very nice one!
