Tamiya 1:48 Dornier Do 335 A-0

April 1, 2016 · in Aviation · · 14 · 3.6K

I really enjoyed building this excellent kit. The only aftermarket items are Eduard PE seat belts and Ultracast exhausts. I also used Eduard canopy masks and was able to re-use them on the inside for the RLM 66 after painting the outside. I used Model Master enamel for the RLM 76 undersides and Mr. Color RLM 81 and 82 for the topsides. The splinter camouflage was applied using masking tape raised with thread to soften the demarcations slightly, and panel lines were lightly accentuated by post-shading with a black-burnt umber mix. The kit decals worked just fine, but I did remove the clear film from the interiors of the outline crosses just to be on the safe side. Markings are for Werknummer 240107, one of the ten pre-production aircraft for the planned A-1 single-seat fighter-bomber.

Cheers and enjoy.
