My modelling interests centred originally around aircraft, but other projects include armour, civilian vehicles, figures, ships and dioramas, and these have achieved gold-medal standards at the British Nationals and other regional exhibitions.

I've had a few projects featured in photo galleries on Cybermodeler, Armorama, and Aeroscale, but find I'm never really satisfied with a completed model, and so keep building in hope of achieving that elusive 'perfect model'.

I enjoy looking at the work of other modellers, for inspiration.

Heritage Wings and Wheels

Tibenham Airfield lies about half hour's drive from me in rural Norfolk. Originally RFC Tibenham in WWI, and RAF Tibenham in WWII and a USAAF B-24 base, it's now the home of Norfolk Gliding Club. You drive along winding country lanes and [...]

Heinkel He-111 H6Hail and Farewell

Here's Revell's reboxing of the Hasagawa 1/72 Heinkel. My oldest daughter asked if I had a model for her youngest son's bedroom (I'd already given her older boy a 1/48 F4 Corsair), and when I looked through the garage I found this little [...]

F-104G Starfighter

Here's Italeri's new-tool,1/32 F104 Starfighter. I've modelled it as the RCAF CF-104G, nuclear strike version, Cold Lake, Alberta AB,1962, which is one of ten kit livery choices but I think the only NMF version. I used an Aires exhaust [...]

RAF Duxford – New Generation

I've been to RAF Duxford (Imperial War Museum) many times, and have several hundred photos of the aircraft there. Two of my grandsons were off school today, and my wife and I thought it would be nice to take them there, as they've never [...]

Merkava Mk IV LIC

As this was the last model in my stash, I thought I'd complete the build and dust-off the 'Armor' category for a change of pace. This is Academy's 1/35 kit (13227) of the Israeli Main Battle Tank, the Merkava Mk. IV, in its LIC (Low [...]

UPDATE: European Tram – “For Jews Only” – Warsaw Ghetto, 1940

About a month ago, I posted the Headlines article (link) together with a link to the subject's WIP thread. In the narrative, I mentioned that I intended in due course to complete the diorama with additional figures, pending their [...]

Mitsubishi A6M5 – Japanese Surrender Markings, 1945

Coincidental to Dmitry's earlier posting of his 1/72 Airfix Zeke, here is Tamiya's 1/32 A6M5 in surrender markings, completed this weekend. I bought the kit second-hand a year ago, sprues still bagged as new, and with two Eduard [...]

Hendon Scale Model Show

Each year in May, IPMS Barnet and Harrow (North London) host a model show in the exhibition halls at RAF Hendon museum. This year, there were around 25 different clubs/SIGs participating, together with a trade area where sales appeared to [...]

European Tram – Warsaw Ghetto 1940

This is MiniArt's 1/35 model of a European Tram (38001), converted to a vehicle in the Warsaw Ghetto circa 1940. For specific details of the kit and the build, there's a WIP thread under the Groups tab, at (link). German influences can [...]

Grumman F8F-1B Bearcat

This is one of the Trumpeter series of 1/32 Bearcats. The build is OOB with the following exceptions: Radu Brinzan seatbelts, (part) replacement of kit decals with a set from Berna, and miscellaneous additional wiring and plumbing to the [...]
