Unfortunately life has taken away a lot of the time I have for modelling but I'm still here trying to slowly chip away at projects. In the week I learn how to fix the real things and then at the weekends I try put the plastic versions together. Hoping to get a collection of Corsairs done, representing one from each nation that used it as well as each version available to build.
I added Eduard's dual-combo 'Adlerangriff' to the stash at the beginning of last year but put off doing it until a few months ago due to the dreaded mottling, which I hadn't tried. I had a few chip aways at the kit in the past, doing the [...]
On August 7th 1942, Ace Pilot Saburō Sakai underwent his most legendary mission and would narrowly survive being shot in the head by the rear gunner of a Dauntless dive bomber.
Escorting Japanese bombers to Guadalcanal, Sakai first [...]
This is a build I started a few months ago as a side project and have slowly got round to finishing this last week. When I was researching for a previous Corsair build I came across this very unique one off scheme and knew I had to add it [...]
After a couple of single builds I wanted to get back to the dual combo way of building kits, and so what better than a bubbletop to go along with the razorback P-47? Having completed a bare-metal Mustang just before the Thunderbolts I [...]
Personally, I'm a razorback fan over the bubbletop, and when I think razorback I can't help but think D-Day stripes which really narrowed down the sort of scheme I wanted to do for the build.
This kit is the Tamiya's offering in 1/48, [...]
A Mustang was an aircraft missing from my collection until a few months ago. I decided to go with Tamiya's rendition of the Mustang over Eduard's more detailed version as at the time I fancied a quick and simple build to get the creative [...]
Last year I built a Fokker D.VII, and towards the end of that build I started up on this Fokker Dr.I before putting it down, but I felt the motivation to put some work into it a few weeks ago and got to work!
This is Eduard's Fokker Dr.I, [...]
There are many aircraft out there that subscribe to the 'What If?' idea, but none I find as interesting as the Shinden. Ever since I discovered this machine as a kid it's been one of my favourites, so Zoukei Mura's offering of the aircraft [...]
The final aircraft from the Corsair trio build is one that represents the 3rd largest operator of the Corsair, the Royal New Zealand Air Force whom operated the type from land bases in 1944/45.
In 1942 the RNZAF began to operate in [...]
One omission from the plethora of Corsair models out there is the F4U-1C, in fact there isn't even a company that offers a resin conversion set for this type. Not wanting to miss out on the only -1 variant I haven't yet built I decided to [...]
