1/72 scale aircraft ww2 – present, mostly military.
Built straight from the box, with kit decals. Although quite an od kit, and may lack some detail by today's standards, it is still a very nice and easy build.
Another kit from the newer Airfix moulds. Builds nicely, only problem is the very thick dayglo decals. I had to airbrush the leading edges as the decals wouldn't go over the curvature, and mixed several mixes but couldn't get the exact shade of [...]
Built straight out of the box. As reported everywhere, fitting the cockpit and front undercarriage bay needs some cutting and modifying. Apart from that, the build goes on very smoothly. Colours are as instructed by Airfix with their Humbrol range.
Airfix's new mould Vampire trainer, built OOB with kit decals. Very nice little kit needing only a little filler around the intakes (As usual!). Dayglo is from Model Master (Testor's).
Revell's quite recent kit of the F4U-4 which has some short cuts and emmisions due to being offered as both an F4U-1 and F4U-4. I didn't bother with most of the inaccuracies and built the kit mostly out of the box. The overall shape however is v[...]
RAF Chinook used during the Falkland War built from the Italeri CH-47(HC.1) kit no 064. Built straight from the box, but modified some details according to the photos I found on the net of this Chinook. Still there might be some mistakes especia[...]
I built this from the original Matchbox kit (2 colour) that was issued in the mid 1970's. I don't know if it was ever issued under Revell (it seems not). The decals had the usual residue of the Matchbox decals of the era when applying them, but [...]
This is Revell boxing of the now quite old Academy Catalina, the amphibian PBY-5A version. Built mostly straight out of the box, with the Revell decals which although a bit thick performed quite well. The roundels on the nose/cockpit sides being[...]
Fujimi "Sunday Punchers" Boxing of their wide range of A-6's in 1/72. Straight from the box with kit decals, which weren't the best (as usual with Fujimi) and were very thick and difficult to comform to compound surfaces.
This is a boxing by a company named IDEA, but it is essentially the Academy kit, I think, as I do not have the academy kit, but the sprues are the same as photos on the net of the Academy kit. Quite good fitting parts, but I decided to model my [...]
