Navy vet, California born and raised. Pretty much came back home after my wonderful adventure in the Navy. Now working in the Automotive industry in the IE in So Cal. Enjoying the So Cal lifestyle. Year around modeling, sports, photography and home gardening. My main subject is Naval aviation in 48th scale. But I don't limit myself as WWII subjects of all nations and aircraft that participated in that conflict I will build as well, some armor, a ship here and there and for a change of pace a car. As a kid that is where it all began with the old MPC Monkee Mobile in 1/25 scale. Thats me in a nutshell.

Monograms 1/48th Douglas AD-6 Skyraider, USMC Korean War

Someone had mentioned that you don't see too many of the Blue Skyraiders of the late WWII/Korean War Era. Well I built one a year ago for the ARC 100 year Naval Air Anniversary GB. One of 3 kits I completed. I decided to go with a USMC [...]

Hasegawa’s 1/72 A-1H Skyraider, USN Vietnam

This was one of those kits that you really enjoy building. Just enough detail to really not need any AM bits other than a choice of decals. Other than the aforementioned decals, it was OOB. Something different as there are a few [...]

Tamiya's 1/48th Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat,USN,WWII

I got this kit not long after it was first released in 1994, up until then we only had Monograms Wildcat and don't recall if Otaki had one in 1/48? Built OOB except for the decals, which were Aeromaster set #48-149C. Fun to build, just a [...]

Accurate Miniatures 1/48th A-36 Apache, WWII MTO

Since we had amazing run on Airacobra's, and I don't have one built yet to display, figure an early Mustang would be the next best thing. If I remember correctly this is AM first kit ever offered was the Apache, new approach, detailed [...]

Arii 1/72nd Mitsubishi G3M3 Nell Medium Bomber PTO WWII

Some really outstanding builds lately. Very inspirational. Today we have Arii's Nell which I believe is a rebox of the LS kit in 72nd scale. Something we don't see to often other than the Betty is the Nell medium bomber. Though quite [...]

Revell / Monogram 1/48 P-47D Thunderbolt, WWII

Today we have Monogram's T-bolt, the old 80's repop that was in the Revell box. This version was issued at around the turn of the century.( Can't believe I wrote that, I remember reading about the turn of the century 1899-1900,yikes). [...]

Hasegawa’s 1/48th A-7E Corsair II, VA-72 Desert Storm

Desert Storm in 1991 was a war that had all the services in transition. Vietnam Era aircraft and Helos participated with the newer generation aircraft, some seeing action for the first time. The Corsair II was one of those that were [...]

Summary of Past Postings

Tonight something a little different, a review of my previous postings, by showing the box tops of the kits I have reviewed on iModeler. When posting a WIP (work in progress) I usually show the box, contents and any AM decals, resin or PE [...]

1/48th Macchi Veltro C.205,Hasegawa MTO, WWII

Something a little different tonite. We have Hasegawa's excellent Veltro in 48th scale. When I first started to plan on this particular project, my biggest dilemma was what scheme to replicate. Thinking this may be the only Veltro I [...]

1/48,Monogram F-5E Bahrain Air Force, Gulf War

Though not much has been mentioned in what capacity that the Bahrain Amiri Air Force contributed during the Gulf War. Flying F-5E's and F-16's. Starting with defensive operations on the 25th of January and then launching offensive [...]
