Monogram model kits

1/48 BF110G-2 Revell Monogram.

I had this kit in my stash for some time. I bought a Cutting Edge engine correction set for it, and didn't think about building it until I saw the release of the Eduard BF110G-2 kit. The boxing I bought was the Wespen release, which comes [...]

Next up on the Monogram train I'm riding!

I always like to share what I am starting in on next, so here it is. This will be my 3rd Monogram kit in a row! I picked up this original issue F-102 at Skyway Hobbies in Seattle. Great shape, molds are super clean and it was less than [...]

Monogram 1/48 F-8E, MiG-killing Crusader

My latest effort is the old, but solid, Monogram 1/48 F-8E Crusader. This classic from Monogram features average fit, with (mostly) accurate outlines and shapes. It has raised panel lines, which also appear accurate compared to drawings [...]

1/48 Monogram OA-4M

Here is my Monogram 1/48 OA-4M. The kit has been around for years- I thought it odd that they released an OA-4M before a TA-4F or J, but maybe the weapons for a FAC role was what they thought would sell the kit? One curiosity of the [...]

Monogram 1/48 P-39 as a Portuguese P-39D 1943

I have always had an interest in Portuguese aircraft, as my parents are both from the Acores. This diorama was built as a curiosity for my dad, as he had always seen me building kits from my early teens up until I left the house when I got [...]

1/48 Revell / Monogram P-47D Thunderbolt “Bonnie”, Major “Bill” Dunham, 460th FS, 348th FG.

Here's the mate to my last P-47 article...I built this plane about 10 years ago. I built this one at the same time as "Fiery Ginger" as flown by Colonel Kearby. These two planes were my first attempt at working out the kinks [...]

1/48 Monogram / Revell P-47D Thunderbolt “Fiery Ginger” Col. Neal Kearby 348th Fighter Group

Here's a kit that I built almost straight from the box about 10 years ago or so... The only change I made was with the leading edge of the wings, and how the .050 caliber weapons were oriented along the edge. On a Thunderbolt, if you [...]

Red Baron is done!

An enjoyable build! Almost decided not to make the little Tri-plane, but decided what the heck. The body of the car is Tamiya flat red coated in multiple coats of Tamiya clear red. The chrome was mostly all re-done with Alclad chrome. [...]

Next up, back to 1968………..

Well, I think I probably built this kit about 69-70, second run that had the Tri Plane in it. The first issue did not include it, and modelers especially the target age of 8-12 year old boys, wrote in to Monogram that there was a Fokker [...]

B-17 Done!

Well here she is, mostly out of the box, I did use a squadron main canopy, Eduard ignition harnesses, and a Cheyenne tail turret from the Monogram Pro Modeler kit, graciously donated to me by a Hyperscaler. I did not build her as any [...]
