This is a 2009 build. I was still finishing in semi-gloss back then, and didn't do much weathering - just some turbo exhaust and fuel stains, no panel wash or other shading/weathering.
I thought the rocket launcher tubes were interesting [...]
So a co-worker throws this kit on my desk and states I hear you build models, got this for $10 so have some fun. Well who wouldn't want to build one of the most successful reconnaissance aircraft from WWII, and besides I like P-38's. [...]
Soon after retirement I found myself hanging out at at local hobby shop, the kind that had hundreds of models hanging from the ceiling. The owner and I thought it would be cool to have plane being shot down with a real ten foot trail of [...]
The P-38 will always be a special airplane for me. I grew up in San Gabriel, CA from 1939 to 1947, all during WWII. Ages 1 to 8, a very formative time in a young person’s life and mind.

P-38L OOB other than seat belts and Eagle Edition decals, to do Tommy McGuire's last "Pudgy."
P-38H done as McGuire's first [...]
Hi Guys,
Here are a few photos of a recent BMF project, with Kitsworld aftermarket decals. I also used the Eduard Big Ed etch set, which added a higher degree of complexity to the build.
Thanks for looking.
Another 1/48 Monogram Classic. I opted for the photo nose, making it an F-5B. OOB.
