1/32 F-100D Super Sabre – Trumpeter
Thud was one of the most effective aircraft of Turkish Air Force for 30 years . I built this model to the memory of Capt. Cengiz Topel who shot down in this aircraft and killed after bailed out over Cyprus in 8th August 1964. This model built straight from box with some small corrections. I used Tamiya acrylics and all markings paintinted by masking. except 112nd "Devil" Squadron emblem painted by hand.
Happy modelling

Are you sure it was '64 and not '74? I don't recall any fighting in '64, but there sure was a war in '74. Also not sure the Turkish AF had the Hun in '64. Could be wrong about all that.
Very nice build. I've done one and have another in the pile, it's one of Trumpeter's best IMHO.
Tom you may find the details here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cengiz_Topel

Another member of the "Turkish Mafia"-and another great build. Your compatriot Tolga must approve.
Very neat metal finish and nice sense of detail make this a great model.
Ozkan:
You have an excellent finish which I rate a 9 on a scale of 1-to-10. Long ago I built three F-100's and devoted one to my boyhood friend Ralph J. Maglione who became the leader of the USAF Thunderbirds. Ralph and his team mates came to the "Akron-Canton, Ohio" airport on October 1, 1966 with their F-100D's and put on a good air show. I was a professional film and still photographer, so they ask me to shoot 16mm color film of the event. Year's later I transferred the 38.27 minute film to VHS tape, then more years later I transferred the tape to a digital DVD disk. Every now and then I look at the movie. I have sold copies of my film, so if you and/or other's are interested, please email me off forum at.
