1/48 Monogram Do-335
Another old Monogram kit, with an option to build the two-seater. While it shows it’s age, it still holds up pretty good, as do most of the older kits, with a little work. As I dip into the stash, I recall why I bought these in the first place.

Joe,
Looks very nice. You did a good job with this model. I agree, Monogram kits still hang in there. Some of their kits are still the very best.

Great job, Joe!
I love that these old kits are still being built into good looking models. Brings back a lot of good memories.

I especially like the open hatch for the mid mounted engine. Just a little TLC can make this area come alive. Tamiya neglected this facet. Kudos to Monogram!
Good work Joe

What is odd to me is that all do-335 aircraft were painted in bomber colors when it was intended to be a fighter/ intruder platform. Someone please educate me on this point.

Well done. Inspiration for me to start mine – it’s an oldie but a goodie. Dusted off the box and looked at the instructions after 40+ years of being idle in the hobby. WOW is the print small in the instructions – or my eyes are older. I bought this kit and a few others with my Dad after mowing lawns and a trip to the local hobby shop in LA somewhere. Thanks for the memories! Can’t wait to build her.

Best of luck, Jim. I hope yours isn’t warped, but warm water should help straighten it, if it is. Mine was ok, but a few others complained about warpage. I thought it a very decent kit considering it’s age. Pretty big, too, next to most WWII fighters.
