Me262A-1a/U3 reconnaissance version from Trumpeter's 1/32 scale kit

May 23, 2023 · in Aviation · · 17 · 578

Hi... this is my recently completed conversion of the kit using the resin/PE conversion set. The kit builds up well with some care, and the conversion pieces are well made and with a little adjustment, make the kit look really good. I like this 'non-fighter' variant, especially in large scale.

It was completed as part of the 'Imperial German...' GB and can be seen here - https://imodeler.com/groups/imperial-german-air-service-luftwaffe-group-build-may-1st-1910-to-present-day/forum/topic/trumpeter-me262a-1a-u3-photo-reconnaissance-conversion/, and the last of four YouTube videos of the entire build can be seen at this address - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP8bAsIA5k0&t=2s.

I hope you like the end result, and thanks for looking in... ;-).

Regards,

Paul

This is a masterpiece, a real inspiration. Me262s are fascinating, the beginning of jet combat, remarkable for their strengths and for their shortcomings.

Your attention to detail makes me want to get an Me262 for my first Luftwaffe subject.

    • Thanks, Anna-Elizabeth... I appreciate your comments. I really enjoyed working on this kit and with a bit of patience, it turns out well. As I said, it does have a lot of tight fitting parts but that shouldn't put it beyond a good modeller. If you do try this one, I hope it turns out well... :-).
