ICM P-51D “Nancy Lee” – 1:48 scale
Good ICM’s kit with addition of Eduard’s cockpit PE set. Painted with Alclad II metalizers and Vallejo acrylics. Weathered with oils. I have used Lifelike decals for this build and I can recommend them without hesitation.
This plane was flown by Lt. Richard Baggett, Germany, May 1945. Nancy was the name of pilots daughter.

WOW!!! Its one thing to make a piece of plastic look like real metal, but its a whole other level to successfully make it look like USED metal that has been out in the sun and the rain and has been covered with paint and oil and hydraulic fluid… and you nailed it.
You, Sir, and a MASTER, and I hope you decide to post a tutorial on your NMF technique someday! 🙂

Thanks Ramon, this mean a lot to me! Next time when I do NMF I will post a tutorial on it 🙂

Another great effort Milan. I have a couple of ICM aircraft kits & wondered how they would build up. Yours answers that question. I won’t hesitate now to build them.

The “Half-price Tamiya” kit looks great with your craftsmanship.
(for those who wonder, yes, it really is a Tamiya ripoff, to the point the main parts are interchangeable).
Milan D. said on August 29, 2014
That’s correct! Total ripoff for a good price. Only problematic part was gun sight which is molded on clear plastic and it looks like it is some sprue residue. Only solution is to use some aftermarket stuff or to scratch build it by yourself… Also, I am not sure about the quality of the decals.
Thanks Tom!
