1/48th Tamiya Fairey Swordfish with Floats
I built this little gem many years ago. I painted it with Tamiya and Alclad paints, and Automotive clear coat. I used the salt method after spraying the Alclad, letting it dry, then spraying the clear coat. After I applied the salt, I sprayed a Tamiya gray lightened with a little white. After that dried, I rubbed the salt off and got the paint chipping you see here. This is the only photo I have of this model.
That's a beauty...looks like your method worked well from what I can see.
Yes, it did very well.
I've yet to attempt the "salt method"...perhaps I should give it a shot. Done correctly, it appears to work quite well indeed. 🙂
First and only time I've done it. I need to try it again.
As with much in modelling, less is more.
I built this a few years ago. I also had the Tamiya detail-up kit for the flying wires, which was etch and lacked the 'play' I think you need for minor adjustments between the wing planes. Also, for about the only time, I used the kit figures, which were surprising good.
Nice looking build.
That's beautiful. Fantastic.
NICE !
Im like Swordfish in pre war colors.
Thank you all!
Having done that kit myself, I really like what you did here.
Beautiful as always George!
Thank you!
Hello George,
Job well done.
