Back to the classics – part 2
In response to Jack Mugan's recent posting here's my version of Tamiya's Mercedes. I've finished it as a stock European version, complete with chrome bumpers, and, yes, a bakelite steering wheel! Thanks to Jack for encouraging me to post these pictures. Now, if only Tamiya would produce of some other 50/60's classics, such as the E-Type Jaguar, Ferrari 275 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette to go with it ...
Looks great George. Glad you posted it, and yes I agree with you….we sure do need more of the classics from Tamiya.
I like it, George...but it looks like you might have to bring it in to the muffler shop before ya lose it! lol
Looks like one of the tailpipe hangers broke...oops.
Thanks, Craig, fixed it now.
a beauty George...looks like Franklin mint
Classy looking build, George.
Great looking Gullwing-truly a classic ride.
Classic car built to a tee George.
Well done mate.
She certainly looks the part! Nicely done.
Thanks for your kind comments, guys.
Sweet! 🙂
You can't argue with the classics but I'd rather have the new AMG GT!
Good looking model!
I'm with you there, Richard, that AMG looks lovely, if only I could afford it.
I could afford it on finance. But I would also have to live in it and wash in petrol station toilets!
Beautiful build, George. Everytime i see a new kit from your " garage shop" i want to build a car. Very nice.
The Exhaust (?) is hanging a bit deep is that right ?
Some time ago here in Goslar was a SL/SLK meeting with all these old Mercedes cars, impressive !
Hi Bernd, thanks for looking, you're right about the exhaust, it's fixed now, it must have come loose during the photoshoot (see Craig's comments above).
Beautiful Mercedes, George.
You're right. I'd LOVE to see some other oldies like you mentioned. The Jag (XKE) is my dream car from when I was growing up.
Varromma-zoom-zoom!
What a sexy car George - looks flipping amazing.
