Tamiya 1/72 P-51D
Not a lot of major stuff to do, but added seat straps, drop tank plumbing and fin antenna for tail-warning radar. Also made Spitfire-type rear view mirrors for windscreen. Installed wheel doors assymetrically drooped per photos
Painted red, blue and lacquered wing areas and masked them off before spraying fuselage with Testors Metallizer over Tamiya White Primer undercoat.
Decals for 4th Fighter Group commander Everett Stewart came from IPMS/USA 2002 convention decal sheet.

Good colorful build Mike, very rare.
First, I saw the photo...then I saw the scale! Amazing workmanship, sir.
Very nice!
Very neat and colourful work, looks a treat.
Another nicely done model, Mike! I like the added details - especially in 72 scale (my chosen scale).
Thanks everybody - this was a prep exercise before I did my ProModeler P-47N.
VERY nicely done, Mike.
Looks great! Did you have any problems with fitting fuselage and wings?
No problems at all. The join where it ran through the gun muzzle fairings took a few minutes of cleanup, but the wing-fuselage joint was trouble-free.
