F-4D phantom, Tamiya 1/32
Hello gentlemans, I missed the phantom group build, but here is my result of last months work. I started build with removing protuding panels and re-scribing all panel lines. I improved cockpit with eduards photo-etched parts and perfect brassin seats. I also used resin seamless air-intakes from rhino models. Inner surface of air-intakes was pretty nice but outer surface was little bit coarse and they were generally smaller. One of the big mistakes kit is bad dihedral angle of wingtips. I had to fix these parts by adding plastic profiles to made correct (smaller) angle. Detailed resin exhaust nozzles is also from eduard company. Effect of burnt metal behind nozzles I created by airbrushing different tones of GSI super-metallic iron color and airbrushing some stripes with transparent orange and blue colors. On this aircraft flown Col David O. Williams Jr and 1/Lt James P. Feighny of the 435th TFS, 8th TFW during vietnam war. Armament was used for standart mig hunting. 😀 All armament was used from box except SUU-23 gunpod. It is product from AMS resin. I hope that you will enjoy the model, it was my first model big scale. If you want to see some photos from the build, please tell me. 🙂
Best regards from Czech Republic Jan (John)

Jan, let me add my compliments on the metal exhausts area. It looks real, if it isn’t, it should look like that! Beautiful F4, not weathered to death, just enough. Nice touches throughout.
I just realized how different the nose on an -E is. C/D looks stubby! Imagine!
