1/48 Tamiya P-51B 3 Squadron (RAAF) Italy late 1944
1/48 Tamiya P51B using Ultracast seat and wheels, 500lb bombs from the Tamiya P-47 (imagine having a few spares there!)
Decals are from Red Roo, an Australian manufacturer of resin and decals dedicated to Australian subjects (check them out).
The kit is fabled for it's easy building nature and many a modeller has turned to one of these for a mojo kick. I can only agree with this belief, if you have not built one of these go and build one for a relaxing build, though choosing a aircraft scheme is probably the hardest part!
Now that right there is simply beautiful, Darren (didn't I just say that?) - 🙂
Good execution and good finish
regards
Those panel lines are super sharp - great job again - and beautiful painting!
Darren, if at any time you could post a WIP or a painting 'tutorial' I'd be first to sign up. Huge fan of your style and finishes.
Yeah, very nice finish on this one (and the others as well).
Great paintwork, Darren!
Really nice looking Stange! I think I will take your advice and build one, but do a more unique scheme like you did vs. a typical USAAF scheme P-51. I love the "B" variant.
Another winner, Darren! I love the paint scheme, especially the blue, starred rudder. VERY nice, Sir!
A beauty of a Mustang! Nicely done.
