Hobbycraft 1:32 Mustang MkIa
A commission build complete earlier this year. Not a bad kit, but at 1:32 it is really lacking in detail in the cockpit...very basic indeed! The pilot figure was added from aftermarket. I had to reshape the carburettor intake as the kit offering was rectangular in section so I filed and filled until it resembled something like the original. Replacement cannon barrels from Master. Minimal weathering was requested and I laser cut the stand as my client wanted this one in 'flight mode' for his own photography project.
Nice Allison pony!
Really nice work, sir...I love it!
well i never ...thought that kit could look like that
Nice work, in case it wasn't obvious, Hobbycraft pantographed the Accurate Miniatures kits up from 1/48.
Ah...that would explain the lack of detail then! The only poor fitting part was the Malcom hood which is about 2mm too slim to meet with one of the outer cockpit walls/fuselage.
Great work, Charles! I like the look of those early Mustangs. Well done.
Thanks for your kind comments folks, much appreciated!
Allison engined Mustang - fantastic work Charles@charles-whall!
Hopefully the new Special Hobby kit for the Mustang I will be with us shortly.
It looks great in flight getting the stand right isn't easy but you've done it!
Beautiful rendition. You've simulated flight excellently with the propeller there.
You have a really nice 'signature look' there, Charles. Really like this.
Great looking Mustang! Love the early versions in British colors - I have just GOT to build one...
Really Really nice Charles! I love this version of the Mustang. Love the British camo scheme...right on!
Looks great Charles. I really like the RAF scheme. BTW nice photography too!
