1/48th CH-21 Shawnee

July 14, 2019 · in Aviation · · 13 · 2.3K

Hello fellow modelers,

This is my first post, and I thought I'd start with one of my recent builds, the 1/48th scale CH-21. I'm a retired Army aviator, so I thought it fitting to start with a . Overall, this was a nice kit, with mostly good fits and acceptable detail. I thought about adding additional detail to the interior but decided only to embellish the areas adjacent to the doors, because obviously, it's impossible to see much else. I particularly liked Italeri's presentation of the two rotor systems, especially the built in droop of the rotor blades. There is room for additional detail if someone wants to make the effort, but in this scale, I thought what was presented was perfectly adequate.
