Professional pilot, retired Army Aviator. I’ve been building plastic models since I was 7 years old. My main medium is military aircraft, jets are my favorite, helicopters next. Additionally I build armor and soft skin military vehicles, and dabble occasionally in sci fi models.

1/48th OV-1D Mohawk

Here are a few pictures of my Roden OV-1D Mohawk. This kit was a bit of a challenge but not super difficult. Assembly simply required a lot of patience. The SLAR boom and the cockpit were both aftermarket resin from Cobra Company. Those acce[...]

Star Blazers Yamato

I have always been a huge fan of the Yamato from the anime series Star Blazers, so, I treated myself to the 1/500th Scale Yamato from Bandai. This is an exquisite kit with perfect fits and an amazing model-shelf presence once completed. It is [...]

1/48th F-104C

Here are a hand full of photos of my Hasegawa, 1/48th scale F-104C. It depicts FG-891 of the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing. Because of it's colorful scheme, this Starfighter is probably one of the most photographed airframes. What can I say abo[...]

1/48th Super Etendard Modernise

Here are a few photos of my most recent build, the Dassault. Super-Etendard Modernise. I have always loved the sexy lines of this jet, in fact, I like most of Dassault's jet designs. I actually fly one of their business jets, the Falcon 7X, fo[...]

1/32nd Scale Hun

My latest modeling project was the Trumpeter 1/32nd Scale F-100D, so I thought I'd share a few photos. It gave me the chance to hone my weathering skills as the unique F-100 heat distress around the afterburner area of the fuselage was a challe[...]

1/48th CH-47F

This is my Italeri 1/48th scale CH-47D converted to the CH-47F. Since I had the D version in my stash, and conversion to the F model was fairly straightforward, I decided to convert as opposed to buying Italeri's F model. But then I ended up b[...]

1/48th F-15C Eagle MSIP-II

Here are a few images of my latest project, the Great Wall F-15C in 173rd Fighter Wing livery. This project is actually a kit-bash using Great Wall plastic and Monogram decals. The Monogram F-15 utilized the original F-15 tooling, and I wanted[...]

1/48th MH-53E Sea Dragon

The Sea Dragon is a beast whether you see the real thing up close, or like myself, you build the Academy 1/48th scale version. And, I don't mean beast as in difficult to build. Quite the opposite, this kit is exquisite, both in fit and in fide[...]

Sanka Mk.1B

The Sanka Mk.B is a prop driven interceptor from the Sky Crawlers (anime) universe. This is my 1/48th scale, Fine Molds, Sanka. The design closely resembles the Japanese Shinden. Unfortunately, the kit is out of production, and it was the onl[...]

1/48th F-22 Raptor

Here is my 1/48th scale, Academy, F-22 Raptor, painted with Citadel Acrylics. This kit had been languishing in my stash, but then I read Sten-Arne B Brunsby’s article about how he simulated the “Raptor Sheen” paint scheme on a 1/48th scale Hase[...]
