A6M2N Rufe, 1/72 Revell,Lodela{Frog]
Another obscure kit from the cheap seats. I found this in a hobby shop which sells older kits.
Lodela's/Revell 1/72 Nakajima Rufe, the kit date backs to the late seventies and it's supposed to be Frog molds. A very basic kit, more basic then the old Johan kit. I used the kit decals which were made in Great Britain are in remarkably good shape. They give you a choice of a green and grey one stationed in Korea or an all grey one from Yokosuka.
Building older kits can certainly be challenge, but you certainly got the most out of this kit. Looks great, especially in 1/72.
Pretty horrid kit - but pretty great work!
Great build Robert, 1:72 is the scale that got me into the hobby, brings back good memories!
Hello Robert,
Good to see these old models being build. You turned it in to a very nice model.
Just off the record, same aircraft as was carried by the large submarines!
IJN is not my specialty. Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.
Uhhhh... actually the submarines carried a 2-seater about 1/2-2/3 the size of a Rufe, called the "Glen." One of them was actually the only enemy airplane to ever bomb North America, dropping indendiaries in a failed attempt to set fire to a forest in the Pacific Northwest.
(No harm/no foul, the Glen is really obscure and confusing it with a Rufe is really easy to do - ask me how I learned this information. 🙂 )
wouldn't that be the Aichi Seiran that operated from the I-400 subs
Nice job Robert, did the clear plastic stand come with the kit? Nice to see some old kits built and posted here.
Yes it did, thanks.
Nice job, Robert...ya done gud! 🙂
Nice work on a primitive kit! The Rufe is a nice looking float plane and an ugly Zeke!
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Nice clean build Robert, you did well on this old kit .
a beauty bob
