Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha Virago XV1000.

June 21, 2020 · in Automotive · · 8 · 3.4K

This is my take on 's Yamaha XV1000...
Built from the box except that I removed the fake chrome plating and used Alclad for all the metal bits.
I decided to paint it in a custom "retro" style scheme with Tamiya's Pearl Clear overall to give it a metal flake look.

  5. Just copy and paste what I said for you xv1600. You even impressed my wife who doesn't give a rat's behind about models.

  6. Amazing work Steve - redoing the chrome has paid off really well - I'm in the process of building my Virago and didn't have a decent chrome paint so had to use the kit Chrome but yours looks so good.
Love the blue colour as well - very nicely done.
