End of War...1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190A-8, II./SG2
Built more than 6 years ago. Tamiya kit, Kagero decals, Gunze and Tamiya acrylics used, wheels from the sparesbox, some landing gear detail added, Eduard seatbelts, Kagero Monographs Fw190 Vol.I as reference.
Model shows the plane of Major Karl Kennel, CO of II. Gruppe, Schlachtgeschwader 2.
On May 8th 1945 when he flew to an airfield in Kitzingen/Germany to surrender to the Allies he deliberately crashlanded the aircraft.
Excellent model, love the camo, Reinhard!
Awesome build, Reinhard.
Well done, Reinhard. @grimreaper
Another great build, and an especially nice scheme on that one.
The key to getting the cowling to fit well for wing installation is to dry fit first with fuselage and glue to fuselage where indicated. Many forego this and glue the fuselage to the wing assembly before installing the cowling…you’ll have a lot of aggravation this way. Follow the instructions carefully, it shows arrows installing the cowling first to fuselage and then (when cured, overnight my recommendation) install with wing assembly. It “snaps” fit to the front section for a nice fit.
